Activities & attractions
Pelican Feeding
Pamplona may have its annual Running of the Bulls, but The Entrance has the Daily Feeding of the Pelicans! Rain or shine for 20-odd years it's been the Central Coast's biggest tourist attraction. It's also earned The Entrance the official designation of Pelican Capital of Australia.
Wyrrabalong National Park
Wyrrabalong National Park's beach and littoral forest treks offer you the opportunity to see the area from a natural perspective. On these treks you'll find red gum forests and paper bark fringed wetlands with an array of captivating wildflowers.
Memorial Park
Memorial Park is one of those places that always has something fun going on - a place where live music, juggling and face painting are a regular occurrence. There's bound to be a live performance at the stage, market garden or at the very least a jumpy castle when you pay a visit.
Beautiful Beaches
With golden sands (perfect for sandcastles) and clean ocean tides, the beaches here are something you must see (and feel) to believe. Some locals still don't believe how fortunate they are to have a coast as nice as this one. Great fishing and very active surf life saving clubs make this a place for everyone to enjoy a range of activities.
Giant Chess Board
More than a game, this oversized chess board is a fixture on the foreshore tempting players of all ages to get out there and strategise!
Bike Riding
Tour the lovely shores of Lake Tuggerah on an approximately 12km-long bike path. Plenty of scenic vistas, picnic spots, parks and playgrounds along the way make biking a great way to spend the day with the family.
The Entrance Boat House
Built in 1927 to accommodate the throng of holidaymakers to Tuggerah Lake, The Boat House continues the tradition of providing a range of worthy pleasure craft. Here you can hire half-cabin motorboats, outboards, canoes, rowboats and even aqua-bikes. And you can fill up the esky at the Boat House kiosk.
The Mardi Gras
Like most things at The Entrance this event was designed for the family. It's a long-time event that kicks off the summer season. For two days the foreshore comes alive with shows and activities that bring everyone together and raises money for good causes. Fun is guaranteed and the times unforgettable.
Weekend Markets
For those who can't resist a good bargain or that certain something special, this waterfront market is the place to visit.
Baits R Us
Located where the pelicans are fed, this is the number one bait and tackle shop on the Central Coast. Bring the kids to see the 5,000-litre tank containing all the local saltwater species.
Vera's Water Garden
Located on the foreshore next to Memorial Park. Vera's Water Park is a world of wet and wild fun! Lots of hydraulic excitement designed specifically for kids, with activities such as climbing, running and dangling, and plenty of splashing and soaking for the entire family.
Skate Park
Professionally designed with everything for the skateboarder or BMXer, this is just one more example of how The Entrance caters to the activities all age groups.
