Darling Harbour
Darling Harbour stretches from Paddy's Markets and the Sydney Entertainment Centre in the south to King Street Wharf and the Maritime Museum in the north. Home to the Australian National Maritime Museum, Sydney Aquarium, IMAX Theatre and Powerhouse Museum, it offers some of the finest museums and attractions in Australia.
Sydney Tower
Towering 250 metres above ground level, the fully-enclosed viewing platform of Sydney Tower features 360 degree views of the city. The floor also includes a small gift shop and a readout displaying data on the conditions of the tower (wind speed, direction and sway amplitude).
The Australian Museum
The Australian Museum has an international reputation in the fields of natural history and indigenous studies research, community programs and exhibitions. The Museum was established in 1827 and is Australia's first museum, with unique and extensive collections of natural science and cultural artefacts.
Capitol Theatre
The refurbished Capitol Theatre offers the public a unique theatre experience, as the only atmospheric cinema in the country restored and fully developed to a major lyric theatre. As the oldest theatre building in New South Wales, The Capitol exterior features significant design and decoration dating from 1892 when it was the new Belmore market building.
Royal Botanical Gardens
Wrapped around Farm Cove at the edge of Sydney Harbour, the Royal Botanic Gardens occupy one of Sydney's most spectacular positions. Established in 1816, the gardens are the oldest scientific institution in the country and home to an outstanding collection of plants from Australia and overseas.
Circular Quay

St Mary's Cathedral
St Mary's Cathedral is the largest Roman Catholic Church in Australia (and reputedly the Southern Hemisphere). It is so large that Sydney shares the honour with New York and Melbourne of being home to the largest cathedrals of the 19th Century in the world.
The Most Beautiful Shopping Centre in the World
The Queen Victoria Building has been described by Pierre Cardin as "the most beautiful shopping centre in the world". This outstanding example of Romanesque architecture, which occupies an entire city block, was built in 1898 to replace the original Sydney Markets. In 1984 it was completely refurbished as a shopping centre, with more than 200 shops.
