Footy Colours Day

Footy Colours Day is the one day of the year that we can kick goals to fight cancer. Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific tackled Friday September 5 2008 with enthusiasm and spirit, and raised over $500 to support children and young people living with cancer.

The Fight Cancer Foundation national fundraising event is a great opportunity to wear your favourite footy team's jersey loud and proud, and help out a worthy cause. There were supporters of AFL, NRL, Rugby Union and Soccer fans who donned their scarves, beanies and team colours to help kids with cancer get back on track - more than 800 children in Australia are diagnosed with cancer each year and often these kids require intensive treatment, with long recovery periods. Unfortunately, this means losing out on valuable education time.

All donations made from Footy Colours Day go towards programs such as 'Back on Track', which enables kids to stay in touch with their school community. Every $1,000 raised provides the use of a laptop for one year, and every $5,000 provides a child with a tailored tutoring program for one year. Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific was more than happy to show our true colours and assist in such a worthy cause,  giving  help where it's needed most. It was a fantastic day -  thank you to all who participated.
