Boardies Day Fundraiser

It appeared more like a day at the beach when staff at Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific started out their morning wearing their favourite pair of board shorts.

All in the name of a good cause, the Boardies Day Fundraiser was initiated to raise money for the Southport Surf Life Saving Club. The club is an integral part of the Gold Coast's history and plays a vital role for residents and tourists alike.

Money raised from Boardies Day came close to $500, a remarkable effort from all the teams who participated. More importantly, the Southport Surf Life Saving Club used the funds to purchase a stretcher, which is an essential item for spinal injury cases and for moving patients who are unable to walk.

Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific was delighted to have made such a worthy contribution. CEO, Barry Robinson, said he was pleased with the result. "Southport SLSC is an enormous part of the Gold Coast's culture and an incredibly valuable establishment. Boardies Day is a fun and productive way to raise money for this beneficial club."

Southport SLSC is constantly looking to upgrade and improve their amenities for members, guests and supporters. They remain one the strongest Surf Life Saving Clubs on the Gold Coast and Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific are happy to be right behind them.
